This article published in the Journal of the American Medical Association Network in 2024 presents data from a national survey of 405 Māori physicians and Māori medical students in Aotearoa, exploring the prevalence of direct and witnessed racism, discrimination, bullying, and harassment experiences. The findings suggest urgent reform is needed to ensure healthcare workplaces are safe for Māori physicians and medical students.
